I cannot see any significance in this at the moment.

The '8' at the end of years is a secret of God.  I can give you the facts, but not the full explanation by any means. It has happened,  is what you can clearly see. The how  is a mystery.
Prophetic utterances falling prior to JESUS fall on the correct year exactly.
Prophetic utterances MADE BEFORE JESUS, but falling AFTER HIS MINISTRY are always 8 years too late. All of them.
So to see when they really fall, 8 years have to be deducted from God's time. Not our time.
Prophecies and Solar event connections, relating to events falling AFTER JESUS all first give the appearance of being 8 years later than they are.
   Once the adjustment is made they all fall neatly into place, and it is quite awesome to see.
The full study showing this is available. Astronomers and historians may well be able to add to the items I have found.

Notice that the prophecy of the 666 number could not be fulfilled openly UNTIL computers were in full use, and especially UNTIL they are in use to Number ALL people. Computer buffs will know the history of computing, which to me is about 1970 to 1999 so far, a mere 29 years. Chips under the skin about 2 years? So you could say it is about to be fully fulfilled by 2001 ad or 2002 ad?
Prophesied c100 ad it has taken 1900 years to reach a stage of possibility now. An incredible prophecy.

6000 means 6000th yr of God, 6000 years from making Adam.
The addition of 8 is God's way of marking time as belonging to Jesus.
I reckon that the 7 years of tribulation start on 1/6/6000 and end on 1/1 6007 = 6 1/2 years.
( "the 7 will be cut back, lest none should survive." Jesus said.)

May the 4th 1999 ad has been declared by Madeleine Albright as the day that Peace in Jerusalem will be signed for keeps. We shall see.

THE MYSTERY HERE, IS HOW CAN 8 YEARS VANISH INTO THIN AIR.       If you add 2000 to 4008 it is 6008.
However if you add 2000 to 0 you get 2000 which appears to be 6000 from observed events & prophecies.
So 6000 is either 6000 or 6008.
The irrefutable fact is that if you do not treat it in this way, none of the supernatural links or prophecies fit. They all (20 of them) occur 8 years too late.      When you treat 6008 as 6000 they fit perfectly. It is a mystery of God.
I think that God has taken the 7 years that did not run in Jesus' life, he was 'cut off ' at 483 years , not 490 as decreed by God for Israel. And He added them back again from 6000 onwards.
   If you do not recognise this , then the prophecies and links do not fit.
But , if you do, they fit perfectly.  The one which shows this most clearly  is Haggai 1:1 in 520 bc historic time, 519 bc Astronomic time. 2520 years on is the 11th August 1999 The Solar Eclipse--we have the 1/6th month as in the verse. It's a sign.
 God seems to be running a repeat of Hagggai and Zechariah situations, all 2520 years removed to our time.  At this point all that I can do, is refer you to the charts with this treatise. Be amazed.
   This does not reveal the date of the Rapture, but it does outline the Tribulation. We are not in ignorance.
ONE FINAL POINT , AND IT IS IMPORTANT.
When Jesus comes for me I shall NOT be surprised. I am waiting at the bus-stop, as it were.
A man not at the bus-stop 'cos he doesn't believe a bus is coming, he won't even see the bus.
He is too far away to catch it anyway, to even see it, unprepared.
He is the one to whom Jesus comes later 'as a thief in the night'. --- by surprise.
What is the difference between us?
I wait expectantly-- he does not. I believe, he does not. I am 'born again', he is not.
With respect, I am waiting for the bus, he is NOT.
I have made sure I'm waiting at the bus stop, he has not.
I am watching for Jesus, he is not.                     Who will be most surprised, later, he will !
I WILL BE AMAZED-- BUT OVER THE MOON. Probably literally!
He misses the bus. WITH SOME ALARM HE, ALONG WITH MANY OTHERS WILL NOTICE OUR DISAPPEARANCE. The media will put out some excuse, some explanation, Not the truth of the matter.
He will be terrified, some years later, no one knows how long, when Jesus comes in power and great glory, terrified as he would be by a thief in the night. He can still be saved if he accepts Jesus,-- but whilst in the terrible last times of the tribulation. The final 3 1/2 years of it. He may well be martyred by the antichrist's followers. Beheaded for his new found faith.
Which group still behead as capital punishment? Think about it.Clue, with a sword.
    Whereas we are saved in the peace beforehand. We are not appointed to suffer the wrath of God.
It follows that this scripture about the thief in the night relates ONLY to the unrighteous unbeliever.
Not the righteous believer. He is watching and waiting and expecting it and longing for it. waiting for the blessed burglar !
Not as an escape route,  but as a promised event. We believe that it is simply inevitable and will be brilliant.
    The scoffers are on TV now. Yet another sign of the times, deriding Jesus and the Rapture. Prophecy fulfilled.
Imagine how they will feel when they find out, almost too late , that they were wrong all the time.
Remember, every one of God's biblical prophecies HAS COME TRUE. If you get doubtful , just read them.  Watch Israel and the E.U. today, as the situation develops as predicted in the Bible.

We believers are quite wrongly reluctant to date the 'catching away', and I can only recommend that you read Avi Ben Mordechais's book, "Signs in the Heavens."
